Innovative Chemical Products Group Is The First Supplier To Earn Elite Silver Certification From International Tennis Federation

Andover, Mass. – Nov. 4, 2017 – California Sports Surfaces, a part of ICP Construction, has been recognized as the first manufacturer to receive the prestigious “Elite Silver Certification” by the International Tennis Federation (ITF).

California Sports Surfaces (CSS) is the premier multi-sport surface manufacturer of Decoturf, Plexipave, Rebound Ace Sports, Premier Sports Coatings, Plexitrac, Acrylotex Decorative Coating, Guardian Crack Repair and Premier Court. Their products serve a variety of sports and recreational surfaces, but the company has a long history with tennis. CSS has been the official surface provider for every U.S. Open since 1978 and countless other notable venues around the world.

The International Tennis Federation has established a range of programs that categorize the speed of the court and quality of installation for new and existing structures. Courts that meet ITF recommendations receive One-Star Recognition. A court that already has received ITF classification can have their court pace-rating tested to earn Two-Star Recognition. For a supplier to receive Elite Silver Recognition they must have 10 or more One-Star or Two-Star ITF Certified courts. The ITF Recognition Program is targeted at venues where a high standard of play demands the specification of precise playing characteristics.

“Tennis court construction is a $30 billion dollar industry and California Sports Surfaces is the unequivocal leader,” said Zain Mahmood, President of ICP Construction. “CSS products truly are impeccable, and so are their people. The California Sports Surfaces team is thrilled to be the first ever to receive ITF Elite Silver Recognition. Now they are even more motivated to achieve ITF Elite Gold Recognition.”

To receive the ITF Elite Gold Recognition a company must have 50 or more One-Star or Two-Star certified courts. If California Sports Surfaces is successful, they would be the first company ever to accomplish this difficult task.

Steve Lock, Global Vice President of California Sports Surfaces, adds, “Most people outside of the industry don’t realize the amount of time and effort necessary to receive each court certification. ITF standards are very high; however, we firmly believe California Sports Surfaces can – and will – be the first ITF Elite Gold Recognized company in the world.”
